International Business Conference 2015 Witness Exchange of Local & International Business Expertise On One Platform
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Ajman and Chairman Board of Trustees of Ajman University the International Business Conference commenced at Ajman University of Science & Technology. In the presence of His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Chairman Rulers Court, Ajman, dignitaries and honorable speakers and guests.
Mr. Osama Salman, Vice President of Ajman University, welcomed the dignitaries and audience to the first of its kind International Conference and thanked the wise leadership of UAE and the Emirates of Ajman for its benevolent patronage and encouraging support. He explained, “The international Business Conference 2015 is underpinned by the theme Diversity and Sustainability: Challenges and Opportunities of Global Business. The United Arab Emirates is the right platform and Ajman University is the apt forum for this conference as it is the global melting pot of civilizations and cultures that co-exist peacefully in a mutually beneficial environment. While we are proud of the Arab and Islamic culture that we are deeply rooted in, we do respect all other cultures”.
He further elucidated, “This conference comes in line with the theme, “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future.” The UAE indeed has succeeded in translating concepts and visions into conceivable reality, and the election of the UAE to host EXPO 2020 is an outcome of this reality. These achievements bolster confidence of other countries and designate UAE a touristic attraction and a destination for business investments. Ajman University of Science and Technology aspires to keep pace with these achievements, and in this respect, strives to propagate the motifs of your conference on diversity and sustainability.”
Dr. Lillian Salih, Dean of the College of Business Administration extended a warm welcome and appreciated all those who made this event possible. She stated, “we as a business school preach and teach diversity, diversity in finance, diversification minimizes risk and maximizes return. We practice what we preach, our students and faculty hails from various countries and background.
The keynote speakers Mr. Ivano Iannelli, CEO, Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence and Mr. Norman S. Wright, Dean, Woodbury School of Business, Utah Valley University, USA presented their keynote speeches.
“I recall a news report from CNN a few years back that labeled the Gulf the “true surprise of the 21st century”, referring to a charming and dynamic entrance within the global socio-economical theater of numerous GCC countries, and especially the UAE” emphasized Mr. Ivano Iannelli.
Whilst Mr. Norman Wright in his speech gave a very hand on strategic approach to the 21st Century Higher Educational Strategy to be employed by old and new institutions. He cited conventional strategies and the adoption of the latest ones to witness improved effectiveness in higher education and its system.
The first day of the conference continued with an interesting workshop delivered by Mr. Christian Farioli, a renowned speaker, digital marketing expert and consultant. He talked about the Digital Marketing: plan, implement and manage an effective digital marketing strategy. The audience were enthralled to get an interesting insight into the world of numbers in the digital media business. He emphasized that incorporating digital marketing was a very vital component of the marketing strategy and the business goals of any institution.
The conference continues for the next two days with paper presentations and concurrent sessions of research papers and workshops. Mr. Burke Franklin, the Guru of business planning, who invented the BizPlanBuilder will deliver his workshop on “Practical Business Planning for Raising Capital” today at Sheikh Zayed Hall, Ajman University, Jurf Campus.
