Seminar to Highlight Fujairah’s Role in UAE Economy

Ajman University of Science and Technology in Fujairah campus organized an approach seminar themed “The role of Fujairah in the economic development of UAE”.

Dr. Ali Abu Noor, Campus Director, explained that this seminar is aligned with AUST goals and vision which aim at bridging the gap between academia and the business community.

Dr. Saleem Aboud, legal advisor for the government of Fujairah, elaborated; in his speech, on the growth and development experienced by the Emirate of Fujairah in recent times and outlined the strategic location occupied by the Emirates.

Captain Mussa Murad Abdullah, General Manager of Fujairah Port, stated that the port serves as an ideal conjunction between the East & the West and as an outlet for the Subcontinent and East Africa. The focal strategy is to serve the entire GCC region as Fujairah is emerging as an increasingly important strategic oil and logistics hub outside the Strait of Hormuz.

Mr. Sharief Habib Al Awady, Director General of Fujairah Free Zone, pointed out that “Fujairah Free Zone has grown multifold. The investor base has crossed the GCC borders and has an outreach to the Indian Subcontinent, China, West Asia, Africa, Europe and even the USA in trading, logistics, assembling, processing and manufacturing”.

The end of this seminar was marked by the honoring ceremony; people whose valuable contribution towards making this seminar a success along with AUST Business Administration graduates who have completed their graduate studies in Master’s and PhD programs and currently hold positions in the Private and Government sectors, were all honored during this event.
