Open day at AUST open new avenues for Business Students

The Open Day at the College of Business Administration takes on a new meaning. It not only caters to the new or prospectus students but also is an ideal platform for existing students to come forth and express their concerns and quell their queries.

Held over the span of two days, the official initiation ceremony included the national anthem and verses from the Holy Quran. Once the floor was open, it was not your conventional Dean’s speech. Dr. Lilian Gheyathaldin Salih College Dean encouraged the students through a motivational talk, her approach to the students has always been praiseworthy. Students look upon her as a mentor and this is mostly attributed to her friendly attitude.

She also streamlined the academic system for performance appraisals and the students’ guideline to exams and attendance. She urged them to focus ardently onto their studies and seek out their faculty’s assistance whenever deemed necessary.

Dr. Lilian shed light on the college’s initiatives to ensure that the students are always abreast of the latest trends in the business world. They improve the students’ academic knowledge as well as equip them with the latest skills set. One such initiative is the University Alliance Program the BA college signed with SAP that will open up more opportunities for students by accessing and utilizing SAP solutions in their curriculum. They will be able to apply theory through specific case studies and research programs.

The dean also reiterating the advantages of e-books and their integration in the students’ course of study.

The heads of departments also took to the podium to explain their specific specializations and the accreditations by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The post-graduates programs were also outlined for the benefit of graduate students.

The Open day concluded with a Q&R session between the faculty and students who exchanged views and proposed their own solutions. The students enjoyed the exciting entertainment and the gifts drawn through a raffle.
